Session Throttling / Bandwidth Limitting

Looking for some feedback on we can throttle sessions per source and at the same time control bandwidth per session.

Here is what we are thinking..

Session Throttling / QoS (files.xyz.com)
- (Bandwidth Pool) Limit bandwidth to 150Mbps all servers in group
- (Per Session) Limit 2Mbps per session with burst to 5Mbps
- (Per Session) Burst traffic per session based on load / bandwidth pool usage
- (Per Session) Limit concurrent download (2) sessions per Src IP (Back to customer)

    Hi Brian,

If your question is based on the SLB/ADC technology, we only have limited options to bandwidth limit as our Thunder Series product does not get very granular on bandwidth limitations. The only option available within A10 would be a resource bandwidth limit within the system resource-template section and the template has to be in a partition(Shared) and not in a service-group as you originally requested. The bw-limit option within the template is based in mbps count.

There is also another option which is a feature called connection-limit within a service group or server template. However, the bandwidth pool feature that you are interested which limits bandwidth within a service group will be available in a later release scheduled for Q1, 2015. In regards to your other request regarding per session limit and burst, we will not be able to support such detail. If you are interested and want to see these features available within the Thunder Series, I suggest that you contact your Sales team and send a FR request.

    Regards,

    Genard
