Lost Enable Password

michaelnwrmichaelnwr Member
I have two of AX 2500 units that were purchased used off of Ebay, and the enable password for these units are unknown. I can log into both units with the default admin info however when trying to go into enable mode the unit prompts me for a password which is unknown.
As long as I don't lose any licensing info resetting these units to factory would not be an issue. So any help with restoring the enable password back to defaults would be great.

Thanks,
Michael

You can login with "reset" and as password the serial number of the unit.
This will give you the option to reset the units.
As there is no licensing for features or functionality you don't have to worry about that.

Thank you for the fast reply.
I just tried that and it gives me a login incorrect response. The first to letters of the serial # are capitalized I tried both upper and lower case and it still did not work.

Nevermind I figured it out. I had to power cycle the unit and log into it before it finished loading all the way up.

    Thanks for the help

Yes, as you have noticed, the "reset" user is available only for the first 15 min or so after the boot.
