Interfacing SoftAx to ESX 5.1 standard vswitch

Hi all,
We have two SoftAX's used as Lab devices. I can communicate with them via the management interfaces, however, no communication via the Ethernet interfaces. These need to be trunks to pass the various vlans from the VM's. The server guys are unsure how to do this as they are telling me that apply one vlan to each interface (limitations of the vswitch ??). I find this hard to believe that you cannot assign the SoftAX interfaces to a trunk on the ESX Hosts to pass all the vlans from the various VM's.
Any clues how they would do this?
I would also like to Etherchannel the ethernet interfaces but again am told that this cannot be done on a "standard" Vswitch.

The problem was resolved by intering 4095 in the vlan ID field on the ESX. This was an instruction in the SoftAX installtion guide to enable tagging.
